At Camp Catnip, we believe every cat deserves a fun and safe place to stay while their humans are away. Our mission is to provide a nurturing environment for cat boarding that feels like a vacation for your feline friend.
Our Story
When I was in the military, it was easy to find great places to board my dogs. However, it was a lot more difficult to board my cats. I could either leave them alone at home and have a friend stop by and watch them, or I could board them at the veterinarian's office - a place they already hated. Occasionally, I would find a place that boarded both dogs and cats, but my cats were terrified by the sound of strange dogs barking. I realized that cats needed their own place to go when their owners are out of town. Camp Catnip is just that place! A fun and stimulating place for cats- and ONLY CATS- to stay and play with all the love and snuggles they could ever want by people who know, understand, and love cats themselves!

- Name brand, multi-cat, clumping, clay litter such as Tidy Cats or Fresh Step Scoop Away Cat Litter, or, you may choose to provide your cat’s preferred litter in a new, unopened bag. (No cost-reduction for providing your own litter.)

- Filtered drinking water

- Every cat will explore the open campground area at least once a day which includes a cat exercise wheel, toys, cat trees, and window perches with views of the bird houses outside. If pet parents approve, they also get snack time- like Temptations or Delectables. We even have a visiting grandpa who will sit and snuggle with your kitty if that is more their style!

Also, all cat campers must be free of parasites and communicable disease. We cannot accommodate cats that are FIV positive or FELV positive. If a cat is discovered to have fleas, the ca

If a cat is discovered to have fleas, the cat will be treated at the owner's expense.
- Kittens are welcome at four months of age or older and, by age eight months, must be neutered/spayed.
- A favorite towel, blanket, T-shirt, or pillow that smells like home (and you) is welcome but strictly optional. Please label the item with camper's name just in case.
- We recommend you bring your kitty's favorite food to both help with their adjustment, and help to avoid any digestive upset from a sudden change in dry food. However, camp food (Science Diet or similar dry food) is available for a daily fee (see prices below) if you and the camper prefer.
- Medications and dietary supplements are administered as requested. There are additional charges for administering food supplements, vitamins, medications, insulin and other injections.
- Names, phone numbers, and email addresses where you can be reached and the name, number, and email address of a local friend or family contact who can speak for you are required; this is particularly important when you are traveling internationally. Your local contacts are welcome to visit your kitty at the hotel while you're away as well!

Cats need to have a current Rabies Vaccination (or vet release from it).
Cats must also have a current FVRCP Vaccination (or vet release from it).
The FVRCP vaccine helps protect against the following:
Feline viral rhinotracheitis (FVR)
An upper respiratory infection in cats, also known as feline influenza, and caused by the feline herpesv
Cats need to have a current Rabies Vaccination (or vet release from it).
Cats must also have a current FVRCP Vaccination (or vet release from it).
The FVRCP vaccine helps protect against the following:
Feline viral rhinotracheitis (FVR)
An upper respiratory infection in cats, also known as feline influenza, and caused by the feline herpesvirus 1 (FHV-1).
Feline calicivirus (FCV)
Another common viral cause of respiratory infection in cats.
Feline panleukopenia virus (FPV)
More commonly known as feline distemper, and caused by the feline parvovirus.
We must have a copy of your cat's latest vaccination certificate for our files prior to your arrival date.
You may email a copy to us or upload your record when registering online.
Please Note
If you have an elderly cat (13 years and older), we do not require updated vaccinations.
We must have on file vet records showing the cat was vaccinated through twelve years of age.
In addition, the cat must appear healthy, particularly with no signs of upper respiratory illness.
